The Best Harry Potter Film, by Far

I FINALLY saw Harry Potter yesterday, and oh my gosh. Can we say brilliant? It's definitely my favorite Harry Potter film, until Part II comes out. I have a feeling that will be epic so that might take hold of first place, but for now it's definitely this one. I was slightly worried going into the movie because I knew it would feel different from all the others since none of it takes place at Hogwarts. But I think it actually made it better because it offered a change of scenery from the first 6 movies. I think the best thing about this film was how it was able to capture the feelings of solitude and foreboding that encompass the book. Right from the off, as it opens with Hermione erasing her very existence from her parents memories, to Harry to Ron and the situations they're in, you just sense that something horrible is going to happen, which it is, so it's perfect. I can't talk too much more or I know I'll give something away. Just let me say that I loved the entire thing and can't stand the thought of having to wait until July to finally see the end.

Harry Potter Craziness

For those who didn't hear, I got a very glamorous job working at the movie theater. So far it actually hasn't been too bad, and everyone I've met so far has been really nice, and of course they rant and rave about Evan, but who wouldn't?

Anyway, so I was at work tonight, and all anyone had to say was how freaking amazing Harry Potter was! It was driving me crazy that I hadn't seen it yet, or still haven't, and am not going to see it until Monday. But at least come Monday, I'll be in a small theater with only a few select people from my dads office, plus or minus a few, and I will be sitting down to enjoy the film that is supposedly the best Harry Potter ever. I guess it beats sitting in a crowded and loud theater on the day it comes out, but the waiting is agonizing. Actually, what I really wish, is that I could have been in Utah Thursday night so that Susan, Laura and I could have made awesome HP shirts, maybe thrown a party, and then gone to the midnight showing together, followed by an immediate viewing sometime on Friday because the movie was so brilliant we simply couldn't wait more than a day. If I was there, that's what would have happened, but alas, here I am in Washington, having to wait till Monday to see it. Although I am grateful for the whole "renting out the theater" thing my dads company does. It IS pretty fun having the theater all to yourself, and since I work at the theater now, I can go see it as many times as I want... FOR FREE!

Read the Hunger Games...NOW!

I just found this video this morning of a fanmade scene from the book the Hunger Games and it is amazing. I've seen some before that are clearly fanmade but this one is VERY professional, and I have to admit that I cried when I watched it. WARNING: IT CONTAINS SPOILERS. So if you haven't read the books, but are planning on it, you might not want to watch. But if you're curious...

It's Official...I Have An Addiction

And it's not to blogging itself, but to decorating my blog, or maybe the decorating of ones blog is included in the definition of the term "blogging." I'm not sure, but either way...it's way past my bedtime.

Hahahahaha!

I LOVE twilight parodies. And can I just point out that at 5:47 who else is singing but Jared Leto from 30 Seconds to Mars. That was a pleasant surprise :)

A Job, A Job!

I just got a call this afternoon offering me a job! I will now be working at the Marysville 14 theater. Not the job you'd expect for someone with a Bachelors degree, but right now, degrees aren't helping a lot of people get jobs. Plus I'm only here till March, so I wanted a job that's used to having people quit after only a few months. So I will now be following in the footsteps of my brother and taking on a position at the theater. The GOOD thing about this job...all the free movies I want. The bad things...horrible hours, crappy pay, rude customers and the expectation to work on all the holidays. A good thing, I'll save some money for Utah, the bad thing, it won't be very much since this is a part time seasonal job. Ugh, I need to go back to school...

Limiting Characters Limits My Thoughts

I hate how everyplace online has a character limit. Twitter has a 140 character limit. How am I supposed to say what I need to say in 140 characters?! Especially when I don't know all the twitter, text abbreviation lingo. It really is an art. I'll spend 20 minutes trying to think of an abbreviated way to say what I need to say and it usually ends up looking something like this, "thats gr8 howbout u&i 2nite@DLX..." blah blah blah. Ok, that's not a great example, that's easy enough to understand, but you should see some of the things these people come up with. I want to say what I want to say when I want to say it without trying to figure out how to make it less than 140 characters. On a similar note, I hate having to concentrate so hard when reading what OTHER people have to say. Even then, sometimes I'm like "What does that even mean?" I think I need the gift of tongues to get the hang of it...hopefully it will come soon.
