Ant Infestation...

So, remember in Honey I Shrunk the Kids how the shrunken kids made friends with the giant ant and rode it part way through the yard on their way back to the house? Then the ant died. Well that part of the movie always used to make me sad. But not anymore. I say, "Go on and die anty!"

A couple weeks ago Heather and the kids visited me at my apartment in little old Rexburg (this is relevant, promise). My roommate Amber had these little bags of chocolate cookies that she offered to the kids. Well they ate a few of them and then dumped the rest on the floor so I picked them up, put them back in the bags and then set them on the kitchen table in case they wanted them later. Seems like a harmless act right? Well, in someone's attempt to clean up (not naming any names), they took the bags of cookies off the table and threw them in a box of unopened food that Amber was storing under the kitchen table. Just last Sunday Amber went to get something from the box and noticed when she pulled it out that there were all these little black ants everywhere. She pulled everything out of the box and found that they were swarming the opened bags of cookies. She quickly found a place for all the food, threw away the box and ran to the store to get ant traps. Meanwhile, I went in the kitchen and attempted to step on all the ants I probably stepped on 50, and there were still a lot more, so I ended up sweeping them all up (alive and dead), dumping them outside far away from our apartment, and beating the broom against the side walk to try and get them all out of the bristles. I then mopped the floor. We thought that was the end of the problem. But then the next day we found some in the bathroom. We told our manager about the problem and then a maintenance guy came and sprayed the apartment with ant killer stuff. Well I haven't noticed any ants for a few days. Until today when I saw one in the bathroom again, hence this extremely long post complaining about our ant problem.

Just thought I'd let you know.

Glee=Happiness

My roommates and I all watched American Idol on Tuesday (way stoked that Kris won by the way) and after the show, there was a preview for a new show called Glee. We were all pulled in by the fact that it looked like High School Musical made into a TV series. Boy were we wrong. It was so much better! Watch it. It's funny, and the music was good. But come on, how can you go wrong with Journey?

And For My First Post as a Mature Member of the Blogging Community...

I saw HANNAH MONTANA (again)

This last Saturday my roommates and I were looking for something fun to do. Being the movie-loving apartment that we are, we really wanted to go see either Wolverine or Star Trek, but alas, we are all poor and couldn't justify spending 8 dollars for a matinee. We could however justify spending 2 dollars to go to the dollar theater (which in my opinion should only cost a dollar seeing as it's referred to as the singular "DOLLAR theater") and guess what just started playing that weekend. That's right... Hannah Montana... the movie! Luckily I have a roommate who loves Hannah Montana as much as I do. That would be Laura. Luckily I also have an ex-roommate who loves Hannah Montana maybe even MORE than I do. That would be Becky. So us Hannah Montana lovers took are two Hannah Montana-liker roommates (Susan and Jenn) to see the movie. But that's not all. We also got our Hannah Montana-not-so-much-liker "I'm not 14" roommate Amber to go with us. We had an awesome time together as an entire apartment+1. And all I have to say is..

Boom boom clap. Boom de clap de clap.
Boom boom clap. Boom de clap de clap.

Pop it, lock it, polka dot it
Countrify, then hip-hop it
Put your hawk in the sky, move side to side
Jump to the left, stick it, glide...

Mere Boredom

So... I got home from classes today and was extremely bored, so I decided to create a blog. Having a blog makes me feel so much more mature : )
